Edo Deputy Governor Escape Death In Auchi, Security Aides In Critical Condition:

The battle for the governorship ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Edo State took a dangerous turn on Saturday as the incumbent Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Pius Odubu escaped death by whisker in Auchi as Gun men shot at him and his aides inside the APC Secretariat in Auchi.
According to ionigeria.com reporter, who was at the scene, Dr. Odubu was shot at when he was being received by the delegates of ETSAKO West Local Government Area Our Correspondent further reported that the shooting happened shortly after the Governor and his Deputy left a function (Party) organized by Barr. Damian Lawani, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Etsako Central Constituency at Udaba Ekperi, ETSAKO Central Local Government Area where one Akhigbe said to be the Governor’s Protocol Officer prevented The delegates from receiving The Deputy Governor at The Chairman’s house.

The Gun men invaded the venue of the Campaign at the Local Government Secretariat of APC and opened fire on the Deputy Governor and other people at the venue.
Seven persons were critically injured including the Odubu’s escort commander and an SSS official attached to him. They are currently receiving treatment at Fate Medical Centre in Auchi.
