Anthony Joshua moved one step closer to a historic heavyweight unification with a points victory over Joseph Parker at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Joshua’s perfect knockout streak may have ended in his 21st fight, but the 28-year-old remains undefeated and now has his sights set on beating WBC champion Deontay Wilder and becoming the undisputed heavyweight king.
Parker entered the electric Principality Stadium first and was given the enemy’s welcome by the hostile crowd. But the Kiwi hardly broke a sweat as he danced and skipped his way into the ring before the arrival of the British king.
Joshua was welcomed by a feverish crowd and shadow boxed in the middle of an impressive fireworks display, before stepping through the ropes to a rapturous reception.
For the first time in Joshua’s career, he met the final bell and was given an unanimous decision by all three judges.
